I'm trying to setup Gmail for a few of our users to run a pilot of GAFE. I want to configure Dual Delivery with MS Exchange as primary and then forward all mail to test domain alias at Google. It appears however that forwarding mail to an external address is not that simple.

Any tips?

Dana,  It can be done, but you are correct it's not a one step process.

1. Create a Contact in Exchange with the person's new email account .

2. Edit the person's original exchange properties and allow forwarding to the new contact.

3. Go back to the contact and "Hide from address book" so other people don't email directly to it.

Hope that helps.

Brian

When I try to add the contact I get a funky error saying the object"cn=Tech help" already exists. So I change the name of the contact to something entirely different and I succeed with creating the contact. Then when attempting to forward to that contact from a users mailbox I am only given mailboxes and not contacts.

It looks like I need to go into the Exchange Toolbox on the Server and not the web based ECP

Cool, looks like you are close.

Exchange Toolbox is failing on loading the MMC snap-in.

Dana,  Shoot me an email at bnorman@lcsc.org so I have your contact info.  I have a few questions.
