Technology for 21st Century Learners in Northwest Minnesota

Once again I would like to pose the question: "What does your district do with outdated technology to dispose of it?" We have an over abundance again, and the last company we used we paid a pretty hearty sum to have them pickup and dispose of it.  I'm looking for companies that you have used in the past and were happy with.  THANKS!

I've used apple recycling in the past.  Load it up on pallets and they pick it up for free.

Also Brian Norman may take it off your hands....

Dumb question:  Does it have to be Apple products for them to make the pickup?  These are all windows machines.

Val - Send me an email.  I recycle PC's, laptops and LCD monitors.

Nope!  Anything electronics!

Hi Valerie, We use Apple's Free Recycle program too.  It only runs during the summer months, but they will take any electronics, any brands, including old Computers, Monitors, Printers, TVs, VCRs, etc.  If the summer months do not work for you, you can contact the person in charge of Apple's Free Recycle program and they are willing to work with you on a schedule that might work for you.  Her contact info is: Jo-Lynn Carter,  jolynn@apple.com

We have Apple pick ours up every spring, They will take anything.  It gets to be a bit of a pain for storage, but Free. If willing to bring them to Grand Forks, RMI takes everything except CRT's.  Here is there URL http://www.residualmaterials.com/#/home/ They also pay you, better pricing if you breakdown machines first. My guess if you bring in a truck load it would pay for the Gas and Driver to deliver them.

Hello Val,

I take my old computers to the DAC in Lake Bronson where they tear them apart and sell the stuff they can.  They do not charge me anything, and the stuff is gone.  Might want to try them or your county DAC, give me a call with any questions

Starky

I use apple recycling, the only requirement they have a minimum of 25 computers.
