I am trying to make an iMac running OS 10.5.8 authenticate to our Windows network, without success.  Is there anyone out there who can give me step-by=step instructions on how to do this?

Thank you!

My understanding from Apple is that the AD authentication is broken in OSX Lion. I have it working in the older version.
That's what I found out googling around the internet.  I am running Leopard, 10.5.8, but I think it is broken in that version also.

You can authenticate to AD in Leopard and Snow leopard. Use the Directory Utility located in Applications\Utilities.

Click Active Dirctory and then click the pencil at the bottom to edit

Type your active directory DNS name and click bind.

Under advanced options I usaully uncheck force local directory on startup disk
