TIES SALARY SURVEY

Hello Everyone:

Technology directors and coordinators statewide are invited to participate in the statewide 2011 Technology Salary Survey, facilitated by TIES. This survey is intended to help districts plan for, recruit, retain and equitably compensate technology staff.

 

The survey  is online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/technology_salary_survey. The survey will be available from September 15 to November 1.

 

Benefits

 

With the survey results, technology and human resources leaders in participating districts will be able to:

• compare their district’s technology roles and salary structures with those of comparable districts
• support staffing recommendations and decisions
• provide benchmarks for planning

 

Results will be broken down by district enrollment size and geographic location. Only districts that complete the survey will receive the results.

 

How to complete the survey

 

Who completes the survey? Only one person from each district should fill out the survey: this person will be notified when results are available. In most districts, the technology coordinator will complete the survey, working with the human resources director to collect the necessary information.

 

Collecting the information: To help in gathering the information for the survey, download a PDF of the survey questions at http://www2.ties.k12.mn.us/pdf/2011_Technology_Salary_Survey.pdf. It is recommended that you collect all the data on the PDF version before entering it online.

 

Survey length: The full survey has a total of 163 questions covering eight positions and takes less than an hour to complete online. If your district does not have a position, you will not be asked to answer questions about that position, so the number of questions you answer and the time it takes will be less than for the full survey.

 

Completing the survey online: You can access the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/technology_salary_survey. If you are unable to complete the survey at one time, you may stop after completing any page and click on the “Next” button to record your data. To leave the survey, click on the “Exit this survey” button in the upper right-hand corner. You may return to the survey later and add answers you missed or change previous answers—but you must use the same computer to access the survey.

The 2011 Technology Salary Survey was created by the TIES Technology Coordinators representing TIES’ 46 member Minnesota school districts. The survey subcommittee was comprised of Karl Brown, Mounds View; Connie Erickson, Burnsville; Lynn Tenney, Inver Grove Heights; Doug Tomhave, South St. Paul; and Corey Tramm, St. Francis.
