TECHNOLOGY PLANS - NEXT STEPS

Hi Everyone:

A number of you have been asking or wondering about what the Minnesota Department of Education will be doing regarding technology plans for the next cycle.

 

I participated in a planning meeting with MDE last Friday. For the period of July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012, they are going to have each district complete a brief plan update and send it in. These will be reviewed and approved to provide eligibility for E-rate for that year.

 

There will then be a new three-year planning process put in place for 2013-2016. They are working with a group of school district representatives to plan this. They will be focusing on more statistical data collection and limited narrative.

I will keep you updated as the process continues. For now, just know that you will be receiving information on completing and submitting a brief update or "Bridge Plan" very soon.
