SMART amp Software Gains Momentum with Leading Content Developers

Calgary, Alberta --- January 16, 2014 --- SMART Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA), announces seven additional digital content partners have signed agreements to develop learning materials for SMART amp^™ collaborative learning software. The wide range of content publishing companies produce learning resources covering all core school subjects and grades from pre-K to 12. SMART amp software is a revolutionary, cloud-based solution integrated with Google ID and Google Drive^™ and available on any device that has a browser. It is the ‘glue’ that connects interactive displays, PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones while enabling teachers and students to collaborate in real time, do in-class assessment, connect to shared digital workspaces and interact with Web-based learning materials regardless of location or device.

One of the seven newly signed digital content partners is Cyber-Anatomy, a company based in Iowa City, Iowa, which creates educational software for primary, secondary, and post-secondary education. “The integration of our Cyber Science 3D^® software with SMART amp software simplifies how teachers and students can come together to learn and explore STEM principles,” says Tom Nicknish, Director of Sales and Marketing for Cyber-Anatomy. “With access to our interactive tools and digital content through SMART amp software, educators and students have more flexibility in how and where they collaborate and interact with our 3D science modules – enabling deep, visually rich learning experiences to take place anywhere.”
