Ncomputing - U170 setup and install – Brian Norman set up a demo for the group. He went through the set up and installation procedures and the steps to go through to get everything up and running. It worked the first time! Discussion followed.
Office Live vs. Google Docs. The group discussed the differences between Office Live and Google. At the moment Google offers a bit more functionality, but in the next month or two Office Live is releasing an update which will put them on the same level, more or less. Discussion followed as to who owns the information that is posted on the sites. The size of storing info was also discussed. Skydrive offers 25 gb of storage right now.
NW LINKS: Mary updated the group on what she has been doing. The tech plan from the MDE is on their website. It will be more like a Tech Plan Toolkit that will be available in October. In the meantime, Mary is going to be hosting a meeting the 2nd week in June to go over the new tech plans that we have to put together. Look for more information. Mary will be contacting the schools involved in the RUS grant that was awarded to NWSC & LCSC.
Randy and Brian set up training in Fargo on Windows Server 2008. There were 12 seats available for the class and it filled up fast. That will be held June 7 – 12, 2010.
He is also going to look into setting up an Exchange 2010 class.
The June 15th technology meeting will be held at the Northwest Service Cooperative.
Apple will be presenting on two topics.
1. Apple Remote Desktop
2. iPad, iTouch and Active Directory Integration.
MCA testing will be web based next year. There will be a new math test next year also.
