This past summer I did a 76 camera upgrade. I did it myself. I went with hikvision cameras. I went with model (DS-2CD2542FWD-IS2.8MM) for interior, and I went with model (DS2CD2342WD4) for exterior.
I purchased them from bhphoto.com I was able to get the interiors for 179.45 a piece and the exteriors for 184.45. If your ordering any kind of quantity, get a quote from them and don't take the website pricing.
The software (ivms4200) and firmware are free (they constantly are updating). The software takes some time to get used to. But it's pretty simple to use once its all setup and going. I have secretaries, deputies, principals and custodians using it with very little effort. They have a app for android and ios to view the live streams also.
I bought a QNAP NAS and filled it with 6tb drives. I have 26tb of usable space. With 76 cameras recording constantly I get about 8 days worth of recording at full 20fps.
You can find mounts for the exterior on amazon and bhphoto.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Steve,
No matter what brand of cameras you buy, spend some time reviewing the software. IMO, you get what you pay for. ExacqVision software is awesome, but not cheap ($125/camera). The free stuff I've tried was only so-so.
