Yik Yak

I was going to wait till the next technology meeting to bring this up, but I don't think it can wait.

Yik Yak is a anonymous live social networking feed.  It can be used easily in the wrong way, bomb threats, bullying etc.

It became out of control very quickly at the district I work in (very inappropriate comments about students and staff, singling out and bullying a female student), and today I have witnessed it explode in usage where I live.  Luckily, yik yak allows you to block it if you are a school by putting up a Geo-fence around your district .  

Go to http://www.yikyakapp.com/support/ and click on geo-fence request on the left.

Also if you google yik-yak you can read many news articles about the headaches it has caused schools.
