Technology for 21st Century Learners in Northwest Minnesota

I'm looking for advice on who I should use to install and support LOW's network, server upgrades and maintenance in the case the Technical Coordinator position is vacant (worse case).

If need be the support services of company should be able to take the role of "network admin". This would include working with a "none technical" person to support the Minnesota Testing requirements, Mac integration issues in a Active Directory environment and Network Security.

I have narrowed it down to TechCheck and Marco(like there is much choice . I'm leaning to TechCheck because they were used in the passed to upgrade the switches and know the network and server configuration from 3 years ago. And they sent a representative to speak with me in person(big plus for that in my book). However, Marco can sell the same equipment as TechCheck but are the services comparable, can Marco take the "network admin" role if need be? TechCheck claims it can and dose for other small school.

Any thoughts, experiences or sales pitches you would like to share would be welcome.

We have a good relationship with Networking Specialists out of Grand Forks.  You also get discounted pricing through the Service Cooperative -   Call Brian Woinarowicz  (W)  at 701-746-9234

Could the Service Coop provide something?  Contract out someone from another district?  I'm sure Marco and Tech Check provide great service, but not to the level of someone who has worked in schools before.  Plus you'll pay a premium to have tech check or marco come out.

Tech Check has been excellent for us at Northome for over 12 years.  They know our system, built most of it and are there quickly in emergencies ... if it can not be done remotely, they come to you and we are three hours away.

At this time no, the service cooperative is not able to fill that role.  In the future perhaps...
