Technology for 21st Century Learners in Northwest Minnesota

A few of you expressed interest in more information regarding Microsoft's Live@edu product that competes with Google Docs.  Since I'm expedient (lazy) I will copy/paste an email I received after attending the Microsoft webinar.  I would appreciate any feedback on how the Microsoft compares/contrasts with the Google product.

Thanks, Brian

Thanks so much for attending the webcast that Barbara and I gave yesterday.  We were very pleased with the turnout, and we hope that you found the content we presented valuable.  The webcast was recorded, so if you want a repeat performance, you can check this out here: http://educationwebcasts.com/Webcast.aspx?i=5095.

We at Microsoft are keen to see all of our Live@edu customers getting the program successfully deployed, so please do not hesitate to contact me (jonncha@microsoft.com), Barbara (bchung@microsoft.com), or your Microsoft Account Manager with any questions or concerns you may have.  We are in the process of calling down the attendees to see what steps you would like to take next, but if immediately want to enroll, you can do so here: http://get.liveatedu.com/.

In the meantime, the number of resources that we offer our customers continues to grow at a fast pace.  Take a glance through the following to make sure you are getting the best of what we have to offer.

K-12 Webcasts and deployment resources for Live@edu Administrators

Barbara Chung, has been recording a bunch of webcasts for K-12 Live@edu administrators.  You should check these out if you haven’t already:

Pilot and Deployment Strategies for K-12 Live@edu Domains

PowerShell for K-12 Live@edu Administrators

Managing Your K-12 Live@edu Domain

I have also been working with Barbara on a Deployment Checklist.  Take a look at this also…feedback from customers that have used it has been very positive.

Deployment Q&A Support

A lot of customers like to be able to talk to someone when they have a question.  If needed, we can support you with a workshop to ensure you are familiar with the tools you need to get Live@edu deployed.  We are also happy to answer any questions you might have on the phone or on email.

Possible funding support for OLSync/ILM Deployment through a Microsoft Partner

We have a very popular program in place where we can provide some funding assistance to pay for a Microsoft Partner to come to you and work to get ILM/OLSync deployed.  Take a look to see if this is right for you.

Marketing Support to assist you in your launch or on-going awareness activities

We can provide you with a selection of posters, table tents, flyers, and more to raise awareness of your Live@edu rollout in your school/campus.

The Live@edu Blog

A labor of love for me for almost 2 years now JCheck it out.  Also, subscribe to my RSS feed.  I blog on everything from technical content, highlighting partner offerings, case studies, and whatever else springs to mind.

Online Community Support

Since its launch, 1000’s of questions have been answered on http://outlookliveanswers.com.  Not only can your end-users ask questions there, but there are dedicated forums for admins, and a place to check the status of the Live@edu service.

Email Archiving Options from Partners

We are starting to see some archiving options become available now and in the very near term from our partners.  We expect a lot more, but here are 3 to whet your appetite:

Integration opportunities with your school/campus portal or LMS

Another popular option for many of our customers is integration.  You may be interested in integration with things like Blackboard, Luminis, SharePoint, or something else.

A rich roadmap

We are not standing still, take a look at what is in store as we roll out FOPE, Identity Federation, SharePoint Online for Live@edu, Exchange on-prem to Outlook Live integration.

Thanks
