Technology Networking Session: June 10, 2011
Developing a Strong Partnership Between the IT and Teaching & Learning Departments
Welcome to the first Technology Networking Session hosted by the Minnesota Department of Education.
Bob Scidmore, IT Director from Eau Claire, Wisconsin will share collaborative practices between his Department of Technology and the District's Division of Teaching and Learning. These practices fully involve Teaching and Learning in all aspects of technology visioning, planning, adoption and implementation. He will specifically discuss curriculum adoption processes, hardware selection, hardware standardization, piloting guidelines and other areas that are common challenges in tough economic times.
Participants will discuss their district’s relationship between IT and Teaching and Learning. They will also discuss the implementation of online learning tools such as Moodle and iPads/Pods. The session will be held 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in MDE Conference Center A, room CC-14. There is no charge to the participant, but lunch is not provided. Please visit the following link to register for the upcoming networking session. Space is limited to 84 participants. Each district is invited to bring a team of 2-3 people.
