Technology for 21st Century Learners in Northwest Minnesota

Hello All!

I am looking for a technology coordinator who has gone through the process with Kajeet and is planning on purchasing it, even if the sale isn't final.

My Director would like someone to talk about Kajeet wne why they are choosing it and the benefits it has at our Administrative Forum in September in Bemidji?

I have talked with Kajeet and they  said they have sales in the works but schools are waiting to hear on grants....

They won't share which schools are looking at it.

Anybody out there willing to share their experience?

PLEASE!

Hi Barb:

I sent out an e-mail to the TIES member districts. So far, I have one response, from Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan, which I am pasting in here:

We looked at Kajeet a couple of times but found them to be expensive (but they have a good toolset).  The biggest issue we ran into was they had a minimum order requirement that was larger than we wanted to go so have stuck with Mobile Citizen.  I would expect out-state MN would have an even harder time to meet a minimum order but perhaps that has changed.  Other than that, I have no experience with Kajeet in actual usage.

We have fantastic pricing through Kajeet.  If a district doesn't tell them they are part of the coops, they will be paying higher prices...  schools are very excited about Kajeet.  They should check again, and make sure they mention they are members of one of the service cooperatives.
