Technology for 21st Century Learners in Northwest Minnesota

I am wondering what other Districts are doing for imaging and archiving documents that are required to be kept for periods of time (invoices, HR Stuff, etc.)  We have been using a document imager that  is PC attached which stores a jpg of the document in the directory of choice.  We just received the bill for yearly maintenance which made me about tip over!  I could buy alot of equipment with those $ if I can come up with a better solution!!

Thanks

If you have a network copier they could just scan the documents with that. You already pay the maintenance on the copier...

We just do it the old fashioned way. Paper copy. Filing boxes. Fire-proof room. Store seven years, then shred.
If you have a NIC in your copier then you can do the same thing, you can store them PDF or JPG. Badger has done this with documents before. You create a share on your network and scan your documents to the share with the copier. Then you can move them to a DVD if you want to put them back into your safe.
Sorry i didn't read the messages below from Brian before replying.
You the Man Brian, don't forget to get ready for your Ties WDS training demostration.
